1Velocity Named Top Internet Provider in Nevada
Las Vegas-based 1Velocity was recently recognized by SpeedTest.net as the number one Internet Service Provider in Nevada. According to SpeedTest.net, 1Velocity has average download and upload speeds twice as fast as any other carrier in the state.

"In large part, our average speeds are the highest of any carrier because 1Velocity focuses exclusively on high-bandwidth customers: larger businesses, government agencies, and other telecommunications carriers," said 1Velocity CEO Mike Ballard. "Our customers are some of the largest bandwidth users in the state, and they demand big, reliable, fast connections.”
“We are highly automated and rely heavily on our network to succeed,” said Russ Ketchum, Vice President of Technology of Allegiant Air. A few of our locations didn’t have fiber availability, which created a problem for us. 1Velocity was able to get us fiber-speed bandwidth to all our locations. The value for the circuits we get is better than any option available in Las Vegas. We like the fact that 1Velocity doesn’t oversubscribe their backhaul circuits and their speeds are incredible.”
While other carriers use a traditional landline infrastructure, 1Velocity built its own metro-area network ring using licensed millimeter-wave wireless fiber. Previously used in missile-guidance systems, millimeter-wave signals are the width of a pencil and transmit at higher frequencies than microwave with bandwidth capacities over 500X that of a T1. 1Velocity provides private Ethernet connections between customer locations and out to the Internet for businesses, governments, and other telecom carriers. This year, the company began providing service between Las Vegas and Reno.
