SNCAT – Sierra Nevada Community Access Television

Sierra Nevada Community Access Television (SNCAT) is a full community access center creating content and transmitting public, education and government cable channels in the Truckee Meadows. SNCAT contracts with Reno (Channel 13), Sparks (Channel 15) and Washoe County (Channel 17) to provide live coverage and playback of all city council, county commission, planning and related public meetings. SNCAT also produces programs for all three channels. SNCAT provides live web streaming and interactive video on demand (archived) meetings and locally originated programming.

The trustees of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada raised the EDAWN: Economic Development Authority of Western Nevadaeconomic development bar nearly two years ago. Aiming for better quality vs. just more economic impact, they asked us to focus on companies that truly enhance the quality of life here. A thorough analysis called Target2010 followed that charge. The BVCA – The British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association – is the industryclip_image001 body for the UK private equity and venture capital industry. With a membership of well over 400 members, the organization represents an overwhelming number of UK-based private equity and venture capital firms and their advisers. The organization recently posted an open letter on the benefits of entrepreneurship from one of its members, Dr. Andy Richards.

Jan 31 – Technology expert to serve as keynote speaker at Preview Las Vegas 2008

The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for one of the most Las Vegas Chamber of Commercehighly-anticipated networking and economic forecasting events of the year – Preview Las Vegas 2008. In addition to a returning panel of expert local speakers, the Chamber is pleased to announce the signing of featured keynote speaker, Guy Kawasaki.

Guy Kawasaki is a managing director of Garage Technology Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm, and a columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine. Previously, he was an Apple Fellow at Apple Computer, Inc. Helping to drive marketing innovation in the computer industry, Kawasaki is also the author of eight books including The Art of the Start, Rules for Revolutionaries, How to Drive Your Competition Crazy, Selling the Dream and The Macintosh Way. He has a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA as well as an honorary doctorate from Babson College. clip_image00121

SBA: 2007, a year in review
