NCET’S Tech Wednesday – New2U Computers – Oct 20

Please plan to join us at New2U Computers’ new offices on October 20 for NCET’s Tech Wednesday, Greater Reno-Tahoe’s premier technology and entrepreneurial networking event.     New2UfinalHorizontal

New2U Computers is a quick way to solve your e-waste recycling problem. Donated computer equipment and other electronics are refurbished and recycled back into the community through it computer store and given to local people with disabilities at little or no cost.  New2U Computers also provide high quality discount computer repair services. New2U Computers is a non-profit program of Disability Resources, Inc.  All proceeds help support Disability Resources, Inc. and local people with disabilities.

NCET Tech Wednesday guests will receive vouchers to recycle electronics FREE, including one TV, at the Community e-Waste Collection Event on Saturday, October 23rd at the old Parklane Mall site.

Research center boss sees new chances

With appointment of a new director, the Center for Business and Economic Research atimage the University of Nevada, Las Vegas may try a slightly different tack. For more than two decades under the late Keith Schwer, the center focused on economic issues that take prominence in the valley, ranging from casinos and tourism to retail and real estate. In that role, the center not only served as the public face of UNLV’s College of Business but also as a source of data and studies to private clients. Read full story:

If I could do it all over again… I wouldn’t

I get anywhere from 20 to 50 questions a day from entrepreneurs like you. You usually ask me a variety of questions ranging from what I do everyday to how I make money.

But one question that seems to be stuck in your head is: what business would you create if you had to start all over again?

The problem with that question is that I wouldn’t start any business. And no, I wouldn’t get a 9 to 5 job either.

See, the hardest part about starting a company is creating it… or at least that’s the hardest part for me. The easiest part for me is growing a business.

So if I were to start my entrepreneurial career all over again, here is exactly what I would do.

This two day summit is brought to you by the Northern Nevada Transportation Collaborative,!cid_image003_jpg@01CB5FCD comprised of private and public sector entities from across Northern Nevada and California.  During the Summit, participants will address and discuss our regional transportation infrastructure needs focusing on three key areas of sustainability:  Mobility, Economy and Connectivity.  In addition to these three key areas, we will have presentations about the Reno Tahoe Winter Olympic Games 2022 to learn about the collaborative effort that is needed for a successful bid to the U.S. and International Olympic Committees and Burning Man: The building and dismantling of a city.
