About NCET
.
Our Mission:Â NCET connects Nevadans to the resources they need to start and grow successful businesses
.
NCET is an independent award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization funded by public contributions, sponsorships, program revenues and limited grants. NCET receives no funding from the State of Nevada.
Counseling and Business Resources
Instead of providing individual counseling to entrepreneurs and small businesses, NCET and its programs serve as a clearinghouse for the many public sector programs and private sector resources that provide free or low-cost services to people starting or growing a business.
Business Funding
NCET does not provide funding for businesses, and instead has developed a list of Nevada funding sources who provide equity funding for companies seeking funding. Small businesses needing loans should contact your local US Small Business Administration office or the Nevada Microenterprise Initiative.
Financial Support for NCET
NCET’s programs are possible only through the generous support of people like you, so please consider becoming a sponsor, donor or volunteer, or by attending or exhibiting at one of NCET’s many programs and events.
NCET’s Programs
NCET’s programs include the NCET Entrepreneur Expos, the Silver & Gold Venture Capital Conference, the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup Collegiate Business Plan Competition, the NCET Technology Awards and eWeek Nevada.
NCET History
Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology’s roots go back to 1999, when EDAWN, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, created the TechAlliance, an organization that promoted entrepreneurism and technology commercialization throughout Northern Nevada.
In 2003, the TechAlliance joined forces with NCED, the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, to create Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, a new state-wide organization charged with encouraging and empowering entrepreneurs and fostering an environment in which high-growth entrepreneurial companies could succeed and flourish.
In 2007, NCET was spun-off as a independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
