David LaPlante
David LaPlante is CEO of Twelve Horses, a Nevada-based marketing technology company with operating locations Reno-Tahoe, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Atlanta and Dublin, Ireland. Twelve Horses was named “Business of the Year” in 2005 by EDAWN and recently named “Technology Company of the Year” for 2007 by the Technology Business Alliance of Nevada.
David was recognized as “Marketer of the Year” in 2004 by the Northern Nevada chapter of the American Marketing Association and was recently named as one of the “Twenty Under the Age of Forty” by the Reno-Tahoe Young Professionals Network in 2007.
In addition to serving as a founding board member for Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, David is serves on the boards for:
- Reno-Tahoe Entrepreneurs’ Organization: A 20-year-old community of business owners exceed $1M (US) in revenue with 6,600 members, 108 Chapters in 38 Countries around the globe.
- EDAWN - Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada
- Reno Bike Project: Promoting and supporting a sustainable cycling based community and economy.
- Holland Project: Providing Reno’s youth positive and productive opportunities for art, design, music, expression and entertainment.
- Washoe County School District’s Career Technical Education Task Force, and the 21st Century Innovation Task Force
David is a graduate of the University of Nevada with dual degrees in Finance and Economics and has been a resident of Nevada since 1988.
