Academic Olympics provides meeting of minds
The atmosphere was tense. The audience of more than 70 people squirmed in their chairs, stifled their cheers and clapped briefly when their team got an answer right.
All the competitions at the 
Academic Olympics on Monday night were nail-bitingly close. The lead switched back and forth between turns in each match. Galena defeated Wooster by 80 points, then Manogue beat Galena by 10 points. Finally, Reno High pulled ahead of Manogue by 10 points. In the Washoe County School District’s annual Academic Olympics competition, a correct answer is worth 10 to 50 points.
