Fraud and Forensic Accounting in Turnaround Assignments

Date: June 28, 2011

Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Lunch promptly at noon. image

Enron, WorldCom, Adelphia…corporate entities that are no more due to unscrupulous practices of their chief executives. Is there a consistent pattern of behavior in accounting and finance that creates corporate environments ripe to be ripped off? How can a white collar crime bring down a company…is it the same no matter the size of the entity…big or small?
Please join us for what promises to be a great afternoon of lessons of dos and don’ts in business.

In this don’t miss session presented by TMA of Nevada, seasoned fraud buster, Craig L. Greene, CPA/CFF, CFE, MCJ discusses the use of forensic accountants when fraud is suspected in a turnaround assignment. Greene will focus on:

1. The profile of the Typical Fraudster and the signs to look for,

2. Common Fraud Schemes in the Accounting Records of a distressed company, and

3. Effective use of the Forensic Accountant in rooting out the frauds.

Highly entertaining, Greene uses real cases from his over 35 years of experience as a forensic accountant and auditor to illustrate the points in his presentations.

Panelist:

Craig GreenCraig L. Greene is a leading certified fraud examiner; white collar criminologist and founding partner of McGovern & Greene LLP. He works as a consultant and expert witness for law firms, corporations, not for profit, governmental and law enforcement agencies on cases involving allegations of fraud and misrepresentation. Frequently, his engagements—local, national and international— involve high profile fraud investigations, many of which have resulted in uncovering fraudulent financial reporting. Other engagements include corporate internal investigations, focusing on employee embezzlement; corruption payment schemes; and vendor/business partner frauds. Craig is also regularly engaged in litigation assignments as a Forensic Accountant to examine accounting records in business disputes; fraud matters; white collar criminal defense; bankruptcy; and CPA malpractice claims and has served as an expert witness in many litigation cases.
