DRI scientists honored
Two Desert Research Institute scientists have been honored with Board of Regents awards. ![]()
Professor Alan Gertler is the seventh DRI scientist to receive the annual Regents’ Researcher Award. Alison Murray received the Rising Researcher Award.
Gertler, who is in the Division of Atmospheric Sciences in Reno, has been at DRI since 1979 and is an expert in atmospheric chemistry and air quality, with emphasis on the impact of mobile-source emissions.
Murray, a molecular microbial ecologist in Reno, added molecular sciences to the broad spectrum of environmental-sciences research conducted at DRI since she arrived in 2001.
