Biodiesel of Las Vegas, Inc., is an expanding company in Clark County that has been producing bio-diesel fuel since 2003. Biodiesel will be collecting large quantities of waste fryer yellow grease that will be recycled and refined at its new plant. The company is investing more than $56 million to expand its production facility. The fuel currently powers engines in more than 5,000 municipal vehicles, at UNLV, the Clark County School District and the U.S. Navy, in addition to filling the tanks of cars in locations across the western United States. Demand for the fuel is increasing. The expanding bio-diesel production plant will employ 40 new full-time workers. The NCED granted the company $4,995,608 in business tax incentives.
