Henderson’s BusinessStar offers custom business coaching
Designed to provide targeted business assistance to companies with high-growth potential in the Henderson area, BusinessStar is a recently-implemented program tha
t already is yielding stellar results.
On March 27, Henderson Mayor Jim Gibson presented a proclamation to TV4U.com, the first company admitted into BusinessStar. TV4U.com is a new broadband network where fans of classic television and sports can access the largest privately-held collection of audio/video content in the world, free of charge.
BusinessStar is a partner program of the City of Henderson, the Nevada Small Business Development Center (NSBDC), and UNLV College of Business. NSBDC business advisor Larry Vierra explains the origin of BusinessStar:
“The NSBDC has been in southern Nevada since the mid 80’s and has been assisting businesses for as long. Upon assessment, we know what businesses need; in many respects, it is more expertise than money. The NSBDC has worked with Henderson’s Mayor Jim Gibson and Economic Development Manager Bob Cooper for some time now and we all understood what it would take to make an impact on Henderson businesses. It is our job to teach the necessary skill sets to help them succeed. Our initiation of the BusinessStar program allows us to bring to bear a wealth of resources to support our clients’ needs.”
Among BusinessStar’s custom business coaching topics:
- Finance
- Accounting

- Sales
- Marketing
- Business & Strategic
