Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada to host business leaders hall of fame gala
The Northern Nevada chapter of Junior Achievement announced it will host its 23rd Annual Business Leaders Hall of Fame Gala in honor of new inductees Greg Ferraro, William Sanford Jr. and Judge Charles McGee on Oct. 17 in the Tuscan Ballroom at the Peppermill Hotel Casino.
Ferraro currently serves as the president and founder of The Ferraro Group, a government, media and public relations company. Prior to forming The Ferraro Group, Ferraro served as a political consultant in over
50 campaigns including President Bush’s campaign in 2004. Ferraro is a director for First Independent Bank of Nevada, a trustee of the Nature Conservancy and Great Basin National Park Foundation and was recently named Chairman of the Judicial Discipline Commission.
A former partner of Sanford and McGee, Sanford has practiced tax and family law for 48 years and currently practices law independently. Sanford is a founding member of the Brodhead Foundation and served on the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation, Planned Giving Committee and the Leonette Foundation.
McGee has served the Nevada judiciary for 20 years and has founded and presided over Washoe County’s highly successful Family Drug Court. In addition to his judicial career, McGee is a founding director and chairman for several organizations including Kids Korner, the Silver State Academy and the Foster Care Review Board. McGee has served twice as chief judge and was the first elected chief judge in the history of the Second Judicial District Court.
Junior Achievement is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing students with the business insight necessary to continue the future growth of our economy.
The JA programs are taught by volunteers from the business community and are based on face-to-face sharing. It is the world’s largest and fastest growing nonprofit economic education organization reaching over 7,000 students in the Northern Nevada area.
