Leaders represent diverse group
Caleb Cage’s day job is serving as senior policy advisor to Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki, focusing on handling veterans’ and rural issues.
Only 30 years old, the 2002 West Point graduate has also co-authored a book with Gregory Tomlin about their experiences as platoon leaders during combat in Iraq called “Gods of Diyala: Transfer of Command in Iraq.”
Cage will also be a featured speaker in a few weeks when he returns to West Point for a conference on U.S. policy.
“We will be chairing round-table discussions of what is going on in the Middle East,” he said. “The book sort of gives us the expertise to do that, in their minds.”
Cage was recently named as a Twenty Under 40 award recipient, given to the area’s most outstanding young professionals. The third annual awards are sponsored by the Reno Gazette-Journal and the Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network. The awards will be presented Nov. 5 at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
