Did you know REMSA Health’s Regional Emergency Communications Center manages more than 250,000 patient care calls every year? You also might not be aware that its Center for Integrated Health and Community Education trains someone in CPR every 32 minutes? And while we’re bragging a bit we’ll use this opportunity to mention we have four helicopters, one fixed wing asset, a special critical care ambulance, 46 transport ambulances, a fleet of special events vehicles and a tactical van.
Caring for Washoe County’s 500,000 citizens, the millions of tourists that visit the region every year, and the rural communities across northern Nevada and northeastern California requires skill, a commitment to clinical excellence, dedication, technology, continuous improvement and compassion. Since 1981, REMSA Health has provided out-of-hospital healthcare to the region as a private, nonprofit, community-based organization and does not receive any taxpayer support.
You’re invited to spend the afternoon touring our Edison Way campus. During your visit you’ll:
learn about and get hands-on with the equipment our providers use in the field
practice your CPR skills and tour our education field-scenario labs
visit our internationally accredited dispatch center
explore a ground ambulance unit and a Care Flight helicopter
discover how REMSA Health is reimagining the next phase of out-of-hospital healthcare
Attendees will hear presentations from and experience in-depth tours with specialized department leaders and credentialed healthcare providers including the Christine Barton, Director of the Regional Emergency Communications Center; Adam Heinz, COO; Jenny Walters, Manager of the Center for Integrated Health and Community Education; Scott Norman, Clinical Standards and Practices Manager; Vanessa Coyle, Director of Care Flight Operations.
