Recognizing that hospital operations are similar to how air traffic controllers manage traffic in and out of airports, Renown has taken its healthcare vision to new heights by opening a state-of-the-art Transfer and Operations Center (RTOC).  The new operations center offers real-time situational awareness of what is happening across Renown’s entire hospital system that serves Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and northeast California.

As a result, Renown’s new RTOC has moved the needle when it comes to a higher level of efficiency and assigning the right resources at the right time.

Here is what you’ll see and learn: 

• How a single technology-based operations command center coordinates all incoming patients transferred from neighboring hospitals

• Emergency and disaster management can be efficiently conducted from a central hospital node.

• The displays and technology that form a series of custom dashboards that monitor occupancy in every hospital unit.

• How Telehealth is monitored at the RTOC.

• How streamlining and expediting patient transfers improve patient and hospital outcomes.
