NDA chief discusses economic diversification efforts
Anyone who still thinks Southern Nevada’s economy is a one-trick pony should think again, according to Somer Hollingsworth, executive director of the Nevada Development Authority.
Hollingsworth, who spoke Tuesday at the 2007 Perspective event at the Orleans, said more and more technology, life sciences and renewable energy companies are choosing Nevada as their new home.
Already this year, the NDA, has attracted 34 companies and 2,494 new jobs to Nevada and spurred 12 corporate expansions. That puts the organization on track to outpace 2006, when the NDA recruited 61 new companies, more than 3,000 new jobs and four expansions. Read full story:
