NDA ramping up efforts to attract life sciences and biotech companies
In its zeal to attract biotech businesses to Southern Nevada a few years ago, the Nevada Development Authority rolled out a recipe that left out one key ingredient: The group forgot to acknowledge the burgeoning life sciences industry that was already here.

The state’s largest economic development agency recently assembled a team to compile data detailing the existing companies in Las Vegas, many of which have gone under the radar, NDA CEO Somer Hollingsworth admits.
Determining the current community is vital to attracting out-of-state firms, because the agency can show that Las Vegas is a viable setting where the industry can operate profitably. And, Hollingsworth says, the existing companies may help to incubate a “cluster” that strengthens the area’s attractiveness to the sector. Read full story:
