NIREC is Aggressively Responding to the Innovation Needs of Nevada’s Economy
During my flight from Detroit to Reno, I reflected on why taking the reins at NIREC felt so different from other points on my career path, and particularly exciting.
The move to NIREC is similar, and yet surprisingly different, from the other career moves I have made over the past 24 years. Clearly, working in Nevada is a tremendous change from my familiar Michigan surroundings.
But, is it really that different? Both economies are heavily dependent upon a single industry and have experienced a marked downward shift in employment and overall prosperity levels in the recent past. 
It is a crucial time for Nevada. A time when the economy is challenged and in need of diversification and a time when change can make a big difference for the state.
And, it’s a crucial—yet, exciting—time for NIREC.
