NIREC receives $1.5 million grant
The Nevada Institute for Renewable Energy Commercialization received a nearly $1.5 million grant Monday.
A non-profit organization, the NIREC works to create new renewable energy business
opportunities in Nevada and the region. They also assist researchers with developing their ideas and prototypes, helping with licensing and attracting corporate sponsorship for renewable energy projects.
“This money will help NIREC move forward with its important work to commercialize renewable energy research right here in Nevada,” Sen. Harry Reid said. “By combining public and private sector expertise with innovative clean renewable energy technologies, NIREC will play an important role in making Nevada the nation’s renewable energy leader.”
