Open Call for Nominations – 2008 Governor’s Industry Appreciation Awards
Nominations are now being accepted for the 24th Annual Governor’s Industry Appreciation Awards.The awards recognize new businesses that have moved to Greater Reno-Tahoe and existing companies experiencing substantial growth during the past year. Nominations for the “Distinguished Business of the Year” awards are due August 8, 2008.

The 2008 Governor’s Industry Appreciation Awards will be held Thursday, November 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at John Ascuaga’s Nugget. New this year is expansion of the “Distinguished Business of the Year” award to include four new categories including recognizing outstanding companies in the areas of: community support, innovation, start-up and educational support/workforce. Each “Distinguished Business of the Year” award category has a unique set of criteria and is open to any Greater Reno-Tahoe Nevada company.
Finalists will be invited to send a representative to the VIP reception and dinner on November 6. Winners will have the benefit of public recognition at this prestigious annual event amongst an audience of nearly 1000 business leaders. Awards will be presented in person by Governor Jim Gibbons.
