Reno geothermal company builds projects worldwide
The geothermal power plant that Geothermal Development Associates of Reno recently supplied to a large flower-growing company in Kenya is likely to be important part of the
company’s growth. By comparison with some of the big plants under development to hook into the utility grid in the western United States, the Kenya plant is fairly small, producing two megawatts of electricity. The equipment at the Kenyan plant is American-made — including components built by Geothermal Development Associates itself in Reno — and it’s playing a role in building the economy of a developing nation.
