Grant Assistance Programs – Gil Sperling, Senior Advisor Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
Over view of the Weatherization Assistance Program, the State Energy Program, The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (including the Retrofit Ramp Up Solicitation) and the Appliance Rebate Program with a focus on economic and job creation opportunities in Nevada.

Nevada State Energy Office - Catherine Gowen, Grants Specialist
Nevada State Energy Office will report on their “Energy ARRA and Grants milestone Minder” and will give an update on state office efforts.

Smart Grid Technology - Edgar Patino, Government Affairs Executive
NV Energy will provide an overview of their Advanced Service Delivery project, including a review of the anticipated timelines for implementation in Nevada.

Smart Grid and Green Careers – Brian Quirk, Director of Communications Office of Science
Smart Grid Development Updates at the U.S. Department of Energy will include a discussion of recent Recovery Act Awards for Smart Grid initiatives that can be applied to whole energy systems to promote energy savings for consumers, increase energy efficiency, and foster the growth of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power. Learn how to pursue funding from the federal government to facilitate the creation of a broad range of long-term, high paying green careers.

Solar Energy Technologies Program – Jenn Decesaro, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
Overview of the Solar Energy Technologies Program with a focus on technology research and development and recent funding opportunities to support program priorities with an emphasis on the program’s efforts to create more robust solar markets at the state level by removing market barriers that hinder the further development of these programs through direct engagement with states and utilities on associated policy and regulatory issues, as well as initiatives such as Solar America Cities and Solar America Showcases.

Geothermal Technologies Program – Dr. Tina Kaarsberg, Senior Policy Analyst
Overview of the Geothermal Technologies Program (GTP), including demonstration and R&D projects related to Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS), low temperature hydrothermal and innovative exploration technologies with a focus on economics and job creation opportunities in Nevada.

Department of Energy Business Opportunities – Joe Garcia, Director Office of Economic Impact and Diversity  and Suzanne Gelderman, Special Assistant office of Minority Impact
Learn how to do business with DOE and DOE labs, what certifications are necessary, how to find out about opportunities, where you can get assistance filling out applications, how to team with small businesses to be eligible for small business set-asides and sole-source contracts, and who to contact to learn more about specific opportunities.

Loan Guarantee Program Office – Tom Cochran, Loan Guarantee Office
Overview of the 1703 program for innovative technology projects for generation and manufacturing the 1705 program for clean energy projects which can be shovel-ready by September 30, 2011 and the Financial Institutions Partnership Program designed to encourage risk-sharing partnerships between the DOE and private, non-profit and public financial institutions and speed the identification, underwriting and closure of more generations and manufacturing project financings of all sizes.
