New technology improves patient care

In the past few months, two Las Vegas health care practices have introduced interesting new technologies.

Women’s Specialty Care started offering the Halo Breast Pap Test two months ago and has screened hundreds of women, said Dr. K. Warren Volker, the practice’s medical director.

The practice has 70,000 patients in the Las Vegas area among its four locations and 19 physicians.

Volker said that as a breast cancer researcher, one of his main concerns is breast health. He said one in eight women will develop breast cancer in this country.

“We’re always kind of looking for any cutting edge testing or medical procedures,” Volker said.

“What we’re seeing is younger and younger women who are getting breast cancer,” he said. Read more:
