Technology teacher named Teacher of the Year

“I don’t even know what to say,” she said, on the verge of tears as hundreds of students and faculty members gathered in the school’s multipurpose room applauded wildly. “It’s overwhelming and I’m humbled.”

Morris, an 18-year veteran teacher in the Carson City School District, is responsible for keeping students and fellow teachers computer-literate and able to constantly use technology to further their studies, said Principal Evelyn Allred.

Morris also spearheads the school’s efforts to win technology grants and has netted about $200,000 for the school, Allred said. Read full story:
