The Business of Cyber Crime – June 24

Please join the Las Vegas Chapter of the Association of IT Professionals (AITP) in June for a unique spin on Cyber Crime. Detective Jason Clark, from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will be presenting a very niche look into the cyber world.

The world of Cyber Crime has evolved considerably over the past few years.  Today’s malware authors are dedicated professionals operating at the cutting edge of computer science.  They work alongside businessmen who understand their market and the importance of customer service.  They are often part of a worldwide criminal enterprise that is capable of acquiring and distributing vast quantities of personal information every day.

In this presentation, Detective Clark will discuss the business side of Cyber Crime and give you an overview of the incredibly sophisticated techniques seen in current malware specimens. He will discuss what we can do to prevent, detect and mitigate both external and internal attacks, and demonstrate the importance of a cooperative response to an intrusion incident.
Topics will include:
– Professional Cybercrime
