As a friend of NCET, you can save $150 on NCET/TMCC’s “Turn Your Ideas into Cash” class when you register today. Pay only $845 and move toward making your entrepreneurial dreams a reality. Register at http://tmcc.augusoft.net/index.cfm?fuseaction=1013&courseid=1656&categoryid=4&subcategoryid=10&catalogid=  or call 829-9010. Registration ends at 5 pm on Wednesday, Sept 18.

In tough economic times like these, your instinct might be to hold onto your savings and scale back new ventures. That’s not necessarily the smartest tactic.

“Actually, a rough economic climate may be the time to dust off that idea for a new product and get it going– to provide you job security in the future,” says Rod Hosilyk, an entrepreneur since the ‘80s who has started a number of companies and has successfully brought hundreds of products to market.

On Sept. 20, Rod will be teaching “Turn Your Ideas into CASH,” a one-day seminar on presented by TMCC’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Division and the Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. Registration deadline is Sept. 10.

NCET 250 In this class, you will learn how to develop your ideas into products with the least amount of risk and the biggest chance of success. Learn where to start, if your product will sell, how to avoid the common startup pitfalls and how to spend a small amount of money and still get your product out to the public. Benefit from real-world lessons that will teach you why some products fail and others succeed. Also, learn the necessary information involved in patents and trademarks as well as how to advertise and where to advertise your product for the biggest pay off. By the class conclusion, you will know the ins and outs of product development that will give you the biggest turnout for your investment.

“Two thirds of the class time will be spent going through a lot of real-world material that you will not find anywhere else,” says Hosilyk. “The rest of the time, we’ll spend reviewing and critiquing everyone’s new product ideas from a number of aspects – marketability, channels, pricing, and more. We’ll all sign Non-Disclosure Agreements so everyone’s invention is protected.”

The course will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at TMCC’s Meadowood Center. For details, click here or call 775-829-9010.
