Unnecessary Burdens On Entrepreneurs And Small Businesses?
The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council has just released its Small Business Survival Index 2008, an attempt to rank the 50 states based on the quality of the policy
environment for entrepreneurs. What that means, given the SBEC’s pro-free-market leanings, is that a good policy environment is determined by how much the government gets out of the way and does not drain wealth from businesses. So, the variables used in the report include income tax rates, state and local property tax rates, minimum wages, legal liability costs, and more. Read more:
