Imagine you could test drive a new car, visit a computer factory to build your own computer and take a virtual tour of a new house all without leaving your home. A new virtual reality software known as “Second Life” offers those possibilities through the Internet.

Author Robert Freedman, a Reno native, outlines how this technology can be used as a strategic business tool in his new book, “How to Make Real Money in Second Life.”The Second Life environment is accessed through a separate Web browser that can be downloaded to a computer, Freedman said.

“Analysts consider this to be a future type of Internet browser,” he said.

Freedman will discuss his book in Reno when he speaks at the Advertising Association of Northern Nevada Power Luncheon on Jan. 10. Read more:
