History

NCET’s roots go back to 1999, when community and business leaders, along with EDAWN, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, created the TechAlliance, an organization that promoted entrepreneurship and technology commercialization throughout Northern Nevada.

In 2003, the TechAlliance joined forces with the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, to create NCET, a new organization charged with encouraging and empowering entrepreneurs and fostering an environment in which high-growth entrepreneurial companies could succeed and flourish.

In 2007, NCET was spun off as an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Today, NCET is Northern Nevada’s largest educational and networking business organization, producing a wide range of programs and events to help people explore business and technology.
