Alana Ridge – VP of Public Relations

Alana is the Marketing and Communications Manager for United Construction Company, a design-build general contracting firm building industrial, government, educational, aviation and specialty projects in Northern Nevada, Southern Nevada, and Northern California. In her role at United, she leads internal and external communication efforts and maintains all digital marketing assets, including the United website, intranet, social media, graphics, and other branding resources. She enjoys encapsulating stories behind every project and purpose and communicating that story to the community.

Before United Constriction, Alana was a Public Relations Jr. Account Executive for The Abbi Agency, a multiple award-winning integrated marketing agency in Reno, assisting travel, health, retail and construction clients in crafting their messaging to the greater public. She also worked in PR and grant writing for Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada, helping build girls of courage, confidence and character through her efforts in fundraising and media relations.

Originally from the great southern state of Kentucky, Alana grew up in California in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved up to Reno to attend the University of Nevada. She holds a B.A. in Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communications and a minor in Foreign Affairs and also holds a Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Florida Atlantic University.

Outside of her job, you can find Alana singing in a local barbershop women’s chorus, participating in community theater, walking dogs on the side and spending time with her family, friends, significant other and her own dog, Lily. And if you can’t find her, she’s probably traveling!
