Hosting an NCET Tech Wednesday

NCET’s Tech Wednesdays are an inexpensive way to promote your company, products and services, and to help support NCET’s programs. Here are the key elements of the Tech Wednesdays program:

NCET’s Tech Wednesdays showcase a different local company on the second Wednesday of each month from 3 until 5 pm.

NCET fills the event – we handle all marketing and RSVPs, along with check-in at the event.  NCET heavily promotes these events via:

  • Emails to 7,000 of Northern Nevada’s business, community and educational leaders.  Each email promotes you and includes your logo and a link to your website.

  • A 600 word article in the Reno Gazette-Journal profiling your business.

  • A 90-second promotional video on you and your company produced by NCET’s videographer.

  • Dedicated web pages at www.NCETwed.org which promotes you and includes your logo and a link to your website.

  • NCET’s social media sites including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.  Event photos are then posted on Facebook.

Tech Wednesdays are designed to generate buzz while being fun and painless for the host company.  NCET does all the work of filling the event.  As the host, you choose the best way to showcase your business (presentation and/or tours) and provide refreshments.  Here are all the details:

NCET generally begins marketing and promotion about one month before each event.  You will need to do the following about two months before the event:

  • Schedule and meet with our videographer to shoot the promotional video.

  • Schedule and meet with our copywriter for an interview for the written content (RGJ article, emails, website and social media content).

  • Provide at least three photos of your venue and / or product photo(s)

  • Provide a hi-resolution logo (ideally vector-based)

50 - 100 people typically attend each event, so you’ll need a space large enough for them to gather, refreshments for that number, as well as any hand-outs, literature, and samples you want to give to attendees.

NCET will introduce you, and then someone from your company can make a presentation of at least 15 and up to 45 minutes.  We encourage you to showcase your new and interesting technologies, products or services, provide tours of your facility, or do something similar.

You provide the food and beverages.  The food is usually appetizers, sandwiches, cheese or veggie trays, cookies, or something similar, while the beverages typically include water, soft drinks, beer and wine.  Please note that vegetarian options have proven very popular recently.

NCET charges $20 for NCET members and $30 for non-members to attend. Proceeds benefit NCET’s educational programs.
