American Battery Technology Company (Nasdaq: ABAT) provides a key source of domestically manufactured critical battery metals to help meet the demand from the electric vehicle, electrical grid storage, and consumer electronics industries. The company's ESG-principled focus works to create a closed-loop circular economy for battery metals with ethical and environmentally sustainable sourcing of critical and strategic materials. Through its three divisions, lithium-ion battery recycling, primary metal extraction technologies and primary resource development, the company is uniquely positioned to supply low-cost, lower-environmental impact, and domestically sourced battery metals.

Tech Wednesday participants will be able to tour ABTC's facilities at the University of Nevada, Reno's (UNR) National Center for Applied Research (NCAR). This partnership provides ABTC with access to UNR’s advanced facilities, equipment, expertise and students. UNR and NCAR has been an ideal place and partnership to carry out this work as they have many established facilities and experienced faculty that complement the work well. The ABTC team and UNR faculty and staff have been collaborating on our current government grants and developing proposals for current grant solicitations. Much of our work done at UNR has been demonstrating our technologies at the bench scale and scaling up pilot scale demonstration.

Tech Wednesday attendees will learn the global battery metals supply challenges, and the importance of creating a strong, robust domestic battery metals chain to support a sustainable and secure transition to electrification. Attendees will learn about ABTC’s innovative, sustainable and secure solutions to creating increased supply of Nevada-produced battery-grade metals that substantially lower cost and have lower environmental impact than current conventionally sourced battery metals.

During your visit you’ll learn about:

  • Global battery metals supply challenges, including security of supply, cost of supply, environmental impact of supply

  • ABTC’s in-house developed battery recycling process and first-of-kind extraction processes

  • ABTC's R&D Lab team's work at University of Nevada Reno’s Nevada Center for Applied Research (NCAR) incubator facilities

  • ABTC's selection for several government grants for multi-partner projects to advance sustainable battery technology, reduce dependence on imported critical materials, develop domestic refining capabilities, and create a circular battery metals supply chain

Attendees will hear presentations from and experience in-depth tours with Dr. York Smith, Director of Research and Development at American Battery Technology Company as well as Carlos Cardillo, Ph.D., Executive Director, Corporate Partnerships at Nevada Center for Applied Research (NCAR)

IMPORTANT NOTE: This event will begin in the UNR Knowledge Center's first floor Rotunda.

It is suggested that participants park on the east side of Lombardi Recreation Center, and in the parking lot located between the Applied Research Building and the National Judicial College Building. Both of these locations are paid/metered parking areas. (See image)

We look forward to seeing you there!

The fine print: No-shows will be charged the full amount of the reservation unless cancelled at least 48 hours before the event.
