Chances are we could all communicate better at work. As our workplaces suddenly became, and then stayed, remote, many have had to embrace full-time virtual communication in their jobs for the first time without much guidance.

While Estipona Group teammates Paige Galeoto and Nicole Rose Dion aren’t experts in virtual communication, they have been operating in a virtual work environment for 11 and 5 years respectively. Nearly half of their agency’s successful 27-year existence has now been as a virtual full-service marketing firm. Learn from their experience about how to stay connected with clients and co-workers, and how to work efficiently, effectively and peacefully when you can’t meet in person.

Their presentation will cover:

  • We all need to assess how well our company’s communication infrastructure is working in the virtual workplace. We’ve been doing it 10 years and we’re still honing it in.

  • Virtual collaboration isn’t perfect, but it’s what we’re stuck with for now and it’s likely not going away anytime soon, may as well optimize how we’re doing it.

  • We’ll share communication tips from our 10-year virtual experiment, including the roles empathy, note taking and social media can play.

  • We’ll share some common pitfalls with virtual communication and how to avoid them.

  • We’ll demonstrate the importance of flexibility, adaptability and compassion in your virtual communications.

About our Speakers

Nicole Rose Dion, Account Director

When faced with a challenge, Nicole Rose Dion has an unnatural reaction – she runs straight toward it. As Account Director for Estipona Group, this instinctive response serves her well. She is a natural problem solver who digs finding solutions. She began working with EG in 2015 as Client Services Manager and now leads the account department, assists with business development and bookkeeping in addition to her regular account executive duties. She has been instrumental in developing processes and standards of client care.

Nicole’s tactical experience is vast. She has run social media programs, acted as graphic designer, programmed websites, managed client relationships and served as a production manager and office administrator. And while skilled and experienced in many disciplines, Nicole has discovered her true calling is in keeping all the ducks in a row — making sure everyone on her team stays on task, projects get done and deadlines are met.

During her career, Nicole has worked on a wide range of national, regional and local accounts in education, government, healthcare, tourism, financial services, retail, food & beverage, nonprofit and beyond. She has served on several local board of directors including: Startup Weekend Reno, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) – Sierra Nevada Chapter, Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NCET) and the American Advertising Federation (AAF), Reno.

The daughter of an artist — Mom is a graphic designer and painter — Nicole grew up in northern California’s Rohnert Park and attended Santa Rosa’s Ursuline High School. A bit of a smarty-pants, Nicole graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a B.A. in Journalism, Advertising/Public Relations emphasis and a minor in fine art.

Nicole loves all things active whether it’s running, biking, yoga or the occasional dragon boat race.

Paige Galeoto, VP of Creative

Paige got her start in advertising in Boston, moving to Reno in 1994 and joining the Estipona Group in 2004. She serves as Vice President of Creative at Estipona Group, overseeing the agency’s creative projects and managing the creative team.

Paige’s extensive brand marketing experience includes national, regional and local clients. In recent years, she has developed innovative and effective campaigns for a variety of government agencies, numerous healthcare organizations and the for-profit college sector. She also helped launch and helps run all-positive news website for Northern Nevada.

Paige graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a thoroughly liberal arts education, a BA in English and a love of fresh clams and public art. She is quite content in her adopted home town of Reno, where the art and food scenes just keep getting better, epic snowboarding is 35 minutes away and they keep building new mountain bike trails out her back door. You’ll often find this self-described “vocal sports mom” on the bleachers with her husband of 21 years, cheering on their talented multi-sport son.

Paige is one of the longest-serving female creative directors in Northern Nevada (hired the month before her 16 year-old son was born — yes, as in she was 8 months pregnant when she first gloriously sauntered through the doors of Estipona Group).
